Cheapest Z-Fold Pet Gate

We purchased two of these at the same time to corral our new lab puppy. I cannot imagine this gate working as depicted (notice the lab in the picture) for dogs at the larger end of the small scale and up.

The access gate has a sliding bolt that doesn't even line up correctly on one of the gates. It takes manual fiddling to get it to engage and it is not easy or quick to do. Once engaged, our puppy has figured out that if he nudges the bottom of the gates with his paws or nose the sliding bolt will eventually disengage to grant his escape. A better design would have the bolt spring loaded. We modified ours by putting bungie strap around it...doesn't look good but it does the trick. We also had to anchor the sides to the walls...which is what I had intended on doing in the first place but just be advised this is not a plug-n-play solution. The price seems to have come down on these from when we purchased them but it is still over $100...I would put the value more in the $50-60 range.Get more detail about Z-Fold Pet Gate.
