I deducted 1 star only because the instructions for putting it together are not the best. The pictures were blurry and I was pretty much on my own. I did however manage to put it together in about 1 hr. Nothing about the cover so you are on your own there too. The steps are very sturdy and the perfect height for a couch. I bought it for a toy dog, but it is designed so that a large dog would be able to use it also with no trouble.Get more detail about Pet Gear Soft Step II Pet Stairs, 2-step/for cats and dogs up to 150-pounds, Slate Blue.
