I got this bed because I wanted a basket-style bed with orthopedic foam for our 16-year-old arthritic dog because the basket keeps her warm and the foam helps relieve the stiffness. But the foam in this bed isn't as dense or "convoluted" as the picture suggests. It does have some convolution but if you have a really old or really arthritic dog, you will need something under this bed for support. We cut up the old convoluted foam bed we had for her and stuffed it in so she is actually laying on that piece of foam. We also had a large square of styrofoam which we also cut and put underneath the bed (and it is held by the bed cover so the foam isn't visible). With those improvements, she absolutely adores the bed and isn't stiff when she gets out of it.

So the good parts of this bed are that:

A. The cover expands enough for you to add stuff to the bed.
B. The color doesn't show dirt.
C. The fur is warm.

You will need to get additional foam or other support if you have an older dog.

OK, yes, I had to be patient. I had to coax my 'babies' onto these beds with treats... that was the first day. Now I practically have to coax them OFF of the beds to wash the covers. I didn't get them here (no offense Amazon, but there are better prices out there AND worse, folks, research).

So I put off buying a large cat scratcher for over a year because of the price. I thought smaller scratchers would be fine, but they never curbed my 2 cats' urges to use the couch/chair/bed/table as scratching posts. Additionally, they jumped up on the walls and shelves, desperately looking to climb something. Also, one of our cats cried incessantly at night wanting us to play with him and - when we wouldn't because we were trying to sleep at 3am - he would start scratching and playing with everything that he shouldn't!!!! The cats LOVE their new play tower! When we first built it (which was very easy by the way - takes 20 minutes MAX), they were a little unsure of what to do with it. So I sprinkled some catnip on the top tower and in the cubby hole and they just went nuts. Now they play on it all the time and furniture/wall scratching - while not completely eliminated - is down 90%! Also, my cat doesn't cry at night anymore. He sleeps more (probably because he has more to do in the daytime now) and, when he is awake, he just claws the scratching posts (which are high enough to allow him to stretch out now) and climbs up and down.

The cubby hole could be just a little bigger, but it's the perfect size for our smaller cat (I put her favorite chew toy - and old sandal of mine - in there) and now she likes to sleep in there. Our bigger cat also finds his way in there too and just curls up in a ball since he doesn't have a lot of room to stretch when in there. Sometime we'll catch them playing with one in the cubby hole and the other teasing them from outside - it's very cute.

Also, for us, the product is very sturdy - a good thing since we have it near the TV - and it doesn't take up a lot of room in our small apartment.

The only drawback thus far is that my young male cat has already ripped some of the carpeting stuff off of one of the poles - I'm going to duck tape it and assume that that will take care of it, but just a word to the wise - young crazy male cats might be a little rough on this product. We bought this bed for our Boxer puppy for Christmas. She LOVES the bed and has used it a ton. However, within a month of use, the seam that runs along the bottom underside of the bed started to tear. By two months there was a gaping hole and the stuffing was falling out. It's also a bit small. Boxers are a medium to large breed dog and while she does still fit in it now at 7mo old, I don't think it would be very comfortable for her when full grown.

Over all, I like the design and my dog liked it. But for the price, it just was not sturdy enough for daily use.

My dogs did not like this bed at all!!! The cedar smell was too strong. Also, it is divided into two interior pillow cases. As a result, there is a crease down the middle that gets worse as the dogs lay on it. I did like the cover, though, with the rugged outdoor friendly bottom. Ended up removing the cedar and dumping outside for mulch. Ordered 4" twin size memory foam bed topper then cut two pieces (one for each dog bed) to fit exactly in the cover. Kept the egg crate foam that comes with the bed. I purchased this pet bed thinking it would be warm and cozy and discovered what a mistake I had made. The bed does not hold its shape, it's like a rag laying on the floor that needs constant adjusting to put it back into postion. The pillow is about 2" smaller then the center where it sits for the pet to lay on. It is flat with very little padding and no support for an older dog. I am ready to throw it out!!!
